Duff-Norton Modular Actuators
Duff Norton modular actuators are made for a variety of applications. They are custom made by matching standard actuators with electric, air, hydraulic or explosion proof drive units.
Duff Norton translating tube machine screw models feature a traveling lift nut which allows precise load positioning. Translating tube actuators are used when environmental contamination is anticipated as they have an enclosed lifting screw and translating tube. For use in locations relatively free of dust, dirt and moisture.
Optional limit switches and transducers are available on the translating tube machine screw modular actuator.

STANDARD STROKE: up to 24 inches

FEATURES AND BENEFITS
- The outer aluminum tube is corrosion-resistant protecting the translating tube and the lifting screw and nut
- Furnished with standard clevis end on translating tube. A threaded end is available as a special order depending on the application. Any type of threaded connection may be substituted
- The wiper-scraper seal located in the end of the outer tube keeps dirt out and lubricants in
- The translating tube is zinc coated for weather-resistance
- A bronze guide bushing inside of the outer tube reduces lateral movement of the translating screw
- Single or double lead lifting screw and nut for high efficiency and long wear
- A vent located in the outer tube prevents pressure build-up in the actuator

- Four threaded holes in the base for standard clevis end accessory attachment. Tapped 1/2-20 UNF-2B
- The ball-bearing screw type and mating nut with rolling contact reduces friction to a minimum which allows for higher speed, longer life, and lower power requirement
- The steel worm and bronze gear set make operation quiet. Available in 5:1 and 20:1 ratios
- Rugged, lightweight aluminum housing is corrosion resistant
- Standard grease fitting on housing for easy lubrication of worm gear
- Stop-disc at the end of the lifting screw prevents inadvertent run-off of ball nut
